High Speed Steel Ground Thread (HSGT) taps are precision ground from a solid blank. This means they are ideally suited to jobs which have close tolerances, particularly for creating new threads. The straight flutes have been designed for tapping into materials where chips break-up readily and present no disposal problems, particularly in through hole tapping. HSGT taps are suitable for both hand and machine operations. They are also available in sets incorporating all three leads.
HSGT taps are available in a wide range of thread forms covering most applications.
HSGT taps are available in three leads; taper, intermediate and bottoming.
To maximise thread form each lead should be used sequentially from taper through to bottoming.
